One Simple Change

We’d like to share another bit of inspiration with you. You already know that Juice Plus+ adds whole food based nutrition to your diet—but you may not know just how much of a difference whole foods can make.
Protection against disease. Many studies have found a whole food based diet to be associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.
More complete nutrition. With processed foods, many nutrients are removed during the manufacturing process. But whole foods retain their fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other healthful nutrients.
Absence of additives. Often packed with excess salt, fat, and simple sugars, processed foods can lead to increased blood pressure, weight gain, and disease. Conversely, whole foods slow down the digestive process (allowing for better absorption of their balanced nutrients) and the conversion of starches into glucose (helping regulate blood sugar).
Lower cost. In addition to avoiding processing costs, whole foods can save you a little money by satisfying your hunger with less. Because whole foods are often dense with fiber and filling nutrients like protein, a serving of a whole food is more likely to fill you up than a serving of a processed food is.
Better nutrition can also give you a boost in energy. Make One Simple Change to do more exercise, then add more hydration to your daily routine. It gives you more energy, helps you feel better and clears your mind.

Reduce Oxidative Stress with Good Nutrition

Dr. David Phillips is a former All-American swimmer who specializes in Sports Medicine. In this video, he advises that we should consume more whole food nutrition to reduce oxidative stress – and emphasizes that exercising doesn’t mean it’s okay to eat anything you want.
Dr. Phillips states, “I can't stress enough the critical role that the thousands of phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables play in helping protect our bodies from oxidative stress and free-radical damage – not only as a part of normal metabolism, but especially during exercise.” Athletes tend to focus on macro nutrition by loading on carbohydrates and proteins but Dr. Phillips tells us that micro-nutrition, which can be found in fruits and vegetables, is equally important for a fitness diet. He sees micronutrients as “the oil that makes your engine run” and explains that the body will break down without it.

Dr. Phillips recommends Juice Plus+® for athletes and people of all physical activity levels for better health and longevity. “Juice Plus+ helps ensure that we are giving our bodies nutrition from the best sources of micronutrients — nutrition that is essential for helping protects us from the damaging effects of oxidative stress.”

Dr. Phillips was an All-American swimmer at Harvard, two-time USA Triathlon All-American (2004 and 2007) and qualified as a member of Team USA for the 2008 ITU World Ironman Triathlon Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Here’s some other simple changes you can try to help manage stress:
  • Laugh out loud once a day.
  • Start a DIY project.
  • Add 5 minutes of quiet meditation to your daily routine.
  • Eat lunch away from your desk.
  • Turn off your phone before dinner.
  • Spend 20 minutes outside each day.
  • Go to sleep an hour earlier.
  • Wake up an hour later on Sunday.
  • Take time to focus on yourself and no-one else at least once a week.
